WHAT IS MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?
A Marriage Certificate is a certificate that proves the relation between husband and wife. A marriage certificate is issued by district marriage registrar, as per religious marriage and special marriage acts.

MARRIAGE REGISTRATION ACTS
Currently, there are two marriage registration acts under which marriage certificate is issued :
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 : When marriage is already solemnized where Husband and Wife are Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs or when they are converted into any of these religions, they will be considered under these registration Act.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954 : Whereas, this act lay down the procedure for both solemnization and registration of marriage certificate where either of the party or both are not Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs.
This certificate can be presented at many places such as passport office, court, Bank, insurance offices, etc. to prove bride and bridegroom were married on a particular date.
DOCUMENT REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION Of MARRIAGE IN FARIDABAD
1 A Person should have Application form duly filled and signed by the Husband and By Wife.
2 Age Proof of both Husband and Wife (Matriculation Certificate/Passport/Birth Certificate).
3 Proof of husband and wife (PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/ Driving Licence/ Adhar Card)
4 Proof Of Residential (Ration Card/ Voter ID Card / Passport/ Driving Licence.
5 Marriage Photos Two
6 Two family photo (If possible)
7 Two witnesses each from husband and wife side
8 Photo ID of witnesses (Two)
9 Two passport size photos for each witness
10 Affidavits declaration from Wife and Husband giving (Yourdoorstep will get it done)
11 Wedding Card 1 is needed
12 Marriage Receipt of the hall (If Have).
QUALIFICATION FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION IN FARIDABAD
Both Parties should be Indian & should be above the age of 21 years (for Boy), and 18 years (for Girl).
The parties (boy & girl) should be unmarried, or the spouse should not be alive in case of an already married person.
The parties (boy & girl) should be physically and mentally sound.
The Husband and Wife should not be related with the relations prohibited under law.
PROCESS FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION - FARIDABAD
1 You need to submit the application in the prescribed form along with the necessary documents in the court of the Marriage Officer
2 The SDM will get all the declarations of the parties verified and shall register the marriage in the presence of four witnesses
3 Marriage certificate will be issued after the registration of the marriage
