Procedure to Name Change in 10th Marksheet Through Gazette Notification

There are three steps to make changes in the mark sheet:-

Step 1: In order to change your name, you must obtain an affidavit from the local notary office that includes your old name, new name, the reason you wish to change your name, and your parent’s names, addresses, and proof of age.

Step 2: To announce the change of name, you will need to publish the ads in two newspapers: Hindi and English.

Revised rule of CBSE for Correction In Name 2023

If someone wants to make changes in their date of birth, they could do it within one year of the declaration of the result. Student can apply for the correction of their name’s spelling, their parent’s name, etc. anytime.
Any correction in the mark sheet will be sent by the Head of the Institution with all the important documents within 1 year.
The important documents should include a copy of the admission form, admission form, school leaving certificate( if the student is thinking of changing their school after 10th standard), and withdrawal register.

Can the CBSE Board deny students to make any changes to their Marksheet?

In 2021 CBSE board refused to correct the student’s name because they thought that it would affect their administrative efficiency. The court then said that the Board’s laws were concerned with paperwork so the court took immediate action and introduced a proper medium to correct the student’s name.
