Marriage Registration – Faridabad

A Marriage Certificate is a certificate that proves the relation between husband and wife. A marriage certificate is issued by district marriage registrar, as per religious marriage and special marriage acts.

In Faridabad, Marriage Registration of   Marriages which is already solemnised shall compulsorily register irrespective of caste ,creed & religion under  Registration of Marriage under the Haryana Compulsory Registration of Marriages Act, 2008 (6 of 2008).

Currently, there are two marriage registration acts under which marriage certificate is issued :

The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 : When marriage is already solemnized where Husband and Wife are Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs or when they are converted into any of these religions, they will be considered under these registration Act.

The Special Marriage Act, 1954 : Whereas, this act lay down the procedure for both solemnization and registration of marriage certificate where either of the party or both are not Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs.

This certificate can be presented at many places such as passport office, court, Bank, insurance offices, etc. to prove bride and bridegroom were married on a particular date.

1  Application form duly filled and signed by the Husband and By Wife.

2  Age Proof of both parties (Matriculation Certificate/Passport/Birth Certificate).

3  Identity Proof of husband and wife (PAN Card/ Voter ID Card/ Driving Licence/ Adhar Card)

4  Residential Proof (Ration Card/ Voter ID Card / Passport/ Driving Licence.

5 Marriage  Photos Two

6 One family photo (If poassible)

7 Two witnesses each from husband and wife side (one from each side should be blood relative)

8 Photo ID of witnesses

9 Four passport size photos for each witness

10 Affidavits declaration from bride and groom giving (Yourdoorstep will get it done)

11 Wedding Card

12 Marriage Receipt of the hall.

• Both Parties should be Indian citizens and should be above the age of 18 years (for Girl), and 21 years (for Boy).
• The parties (boy & girl) should be unmarried, or the spouse should not be alive in case of an already married person.
• The parties (boy & girl) should be physically and mentally sound.
• The Bride and Groom should not be related with the relations prohibited under law.

• 1 Submit the application in the prescribed form along with the necessary documents in the court of the Marriage Officer (Addl. District Magistrate, Collectorate).
• 2 The Court will get all the declarations of the parties verified and shall register the marriage in the presence of four  witnesses
• 3 The marriage registration certificate will be issued after the registration of the marriage

• 1 Certificate of Marriage is a document providing social security, self-confidence particularly among married Women.
• 2 Certificate of Marriage is a document, which provides valuable evidence of marriage;
• 3 Certificate of Marriage is useful in getting the visa for the wife/husband.
• 4 It will be helpful in claiming the Bank deposits or Life Insurance benefits when the deposited or the Insurer dies without a nomination or otherwise
