Step 1 – Change The Name In The Book Of Central Gazette

When the Person is interested in changing the Name Passport in Uttar Pradesh, the Person should submit the Affidavit with the concerned officer containing the applicant’s information like

Step 4 – Contact Nearby Regional Passport Office To Issue A New Passport

Now approach the passport office to get the application form and fill the application Form No. II for Miscellaneous Services and submit the Application with them along with the prescribed Fee. The new fresh Passport will be issued to the applicant within the time period of three weeks to one month and may also extend based on situations. It takes the usual time as an Application for a fresh new Passport.

Procedure to Change the Name in the Passport For Married Woman

In 2017, the Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi said there is no need to change their Name Passport women once they get married. He addressed this in the Indian Merchant’s Chamber’s Ladies’ wing regarding Name changing for married women.

Cost Involved In Change Of Name In Passport

In Uttar Pradesh, for Name changing, the first step is getting an Affidavit, for Affidavit applicant needs to afford Rs.20/- for Stamp Paper; to get attestation, it charges around Rs.250/- from the notary; for Gazette notification, it charges approximately Rs.1,500/-, sometimes it varies depends on public notice and for Advertisement in newspaper costs involved is Rs.750/-. 

The Fee charged by Uttar Pradesh for changing Name in Passport is Rs. 2,000/- as the application fee for the reissue of Passport with 10 years of validity contains 20 pages; for 15 pages, they will charge Rs.1,500/-. In case the applicant opts for the option tatkal services, they need to pay Rs.2,000/- additionally. 

In the case of a minor, Rs.1,000/- with 5 years of validity contains 36 pages as an application fee, additional Rs.2,000/- for tatkal service.

Situations in which change your name in Passport is not possible

• If the supporting documents required for change is unclear, it does not support enough information needed, and you can’t get the name change in your Passport.
• Incorrect or Fraud information is found in your supporting document; the applicant cannot change your Name.
• To get escape from debt, the Person cannot avail of the option of changing the Name in Passport.
• If the applicant has enforced any illegal activities in the state and is listed in the most wanted Person by law enforcement, he cannot change his Name in the Passport.
