Marriage certificate/ Marriage Registration online in Delhi
Delhi (Compulsory Registration of Marriage) Order, 2014 will be applicable to all marriages solemnized in Delhi irrespective of caste, creed and religion of the brides and grooms.
WHAT IS MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?
A Marriage Certificate is a certificate that proves relation between husband and wife. Marriage certificate is issued by district marriage registrar, as per religious marriage and special marriage acts.
MARRIAGE REGISTRATION ACTS
Currently there are two marriage registration acts under which marriage certificate is issued :
The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 : When marriage is already solemnized where Husband and Wife are Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs or when they are converted into any of these religions, they will be considered under these registation Act.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954 : Whereas, this act lay down the procedure for both solemnization and registration of marriage certificate where either of the party or both are not Hindus, Buddhists, Jain or Sikhs.
This certificate can be presented at many places such as passport office, court, Bank, insurance offices, etc. to prove bride and bridegroom were married on particular date.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITION FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION IN DELHI
Eligibility condition for marriage registration in Delhi is :
Both the parties should belong to Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jain religions.
Neither party should have a spouse living at the time of marriage.
Both the parties should be of sound mind, capable of giving valid consent, fit for marriage and procreation of a child.
Male should have completed the age of 21 years and female should have completed the age of 18 years at the time of marriage.
Parties should not come within the degree of prohibited relationship unless the custom or usage governing each of them permits of a marriage between the two.
Parties should not be sapindas of each other, unless the custom or usage governing each of them permits of a marriage between the two.
MARRIAGE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE IN DELHI
Marriage registration procedure in Delhi is :
Submit the application in the prescribed form along with the necessary documents in the court of the Marriage Officer (Addl. District Magistrate, Collectorate).
The Court will get all the declarations of the parties verified, and shall register the marriage in the presence of one witness.
The marriage registration certificate will be issued after the registration of the marriage.

1. Age proof of Husband (Anyone of the following)
SSC Exam Certificate
Civil Surgeon Certificate
2. Age proof of Wife (Anyone of the following)
SSC Exam Certificate

3. Residential Proof (Anyone of the following)
Registered Rent Agreement
4. Marriage Proof
Marriage Invitation Card
Marriage Photo with 2 Passport size photo of husband and wife is compulsory
Aadhaar Card or Any Id Card
Passport size photo
Note : The documents set of Original with one xerox copy one should carry with them for registrar office visit.
HOW TO APPLY FOR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE ONLINE IN DELHI
The couples whose marriage has already been solemnized and who belongs to the religion Hindu/Jain/Budh can register their marriage under Hindu marriage act . Sikhs can register their marriage under Anand marriage act . However process is similar to the process which is followed in Hindu marriage act.

WHAT IS THE ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLYING MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
The parties should be more than 21 years of age for males and 18 years for females.
The parties must have lived for at least one month in the district where marriage is to be registered.
There should not be more than one spouse of any of the parties at the time of marriage under Hindu Marriage Act, while according to Special Marriage Act it is allowed.

Govt tatkal fess - 500 + 1000 ( tatkal charge)
LATE FINE FOR MARRIAGE REGISTRATION
If marriage date is before 2014 , there no late fine
After 2014 -
within 60 days no late fine
60 days to 120 days - 500 late fine
beyond 120 days - 1000 late fine
